Decorating Ideas & Colour Schemes
It might be of interest to you to know what the decorating trends are amongst our clients.
Today, the trend seems to be away from the use of anaglypta and very much leaning towards the use of lining paper followed by emulsion or simply applying emulsion paint alone.
Wallpapering one “feature wall” in a Living Room or Bedroom is very much in vogue. Painting a feature wall in a different colour is also very popular.
During the ‘80s and ‘90s there was a large demand for fitting borders, dado rails and picture rails but in our experience this no longer seems to be the fashion.
Concerning paintwork finishes, i.e. gloss, satinwood or eggshell -
With regards to ceilings, the demand for Artex is now very low but there is an increasing interest in replacing Artex with a smooth, plastered finish.
