My name is Michael Dixon. I began my working life as an apprentice toolmaker at Avdels in Welwyn Garden City. When I became qualified I took a job as a toolmaker at a small company called Giffex Limited on Albert Street in St. Albans. After several years I became interested in decorating and left for a job as a trainee decorator, working for a friend in North London. I soon found that I had a flair for this sort of work. My background in precision engineering stood me in good stead. I started my own decorating business in December 1979 and within one year I had started to employ other decorators because I found I had too much work to handle on my own. My wife, Janet, handles the vast majority of the office work for me. Thirty two years later we have become one of the leading decorating businesses covering most of Hertfordshire. My team and I have a cumulative wealth of knowledge in our field, amounting to over 100 years! With this amount of experience we feel we can solve most of your decorating needs. The key to our success is to provide you with a really good service and to be flexible to fit in with your needs, whether you are having one room decorated or the whole house.
